Conference Room Upgrades

The last project I headed at Luma Pictures was a complete upgrade of 5 conference rooms. I researched, hired, and liaised with a conferencing company to have our own Crestron control system put in place with in-ceiling microphones. I researched and purchased all hardware going into the rooms (Mac desktop, Linux desktop, video conferencing camera). As well as purchased, installed, and moved the company from Lifesize to Zoom Video Conferencing. This included creating and running training for all executives on the new systems.

The two main (largest) conference rooms were outfitted with Crestron control using iPads. However, the 3 smaller rooms were set up by me using Zoom. These rooms did not have the in-ceiling microphones so I was in charge of purchasing and testing different products to install. I also set up and customized our Zoom iPad controls.

In all 5 rooms, I was tasked with redesigning all tech to make the rooms as professionally presentable as possible. Our goal throughout this project was not just technical strength and consistency, it also included aesthetics. Finding good quality products that also met with our company requirements of a professional, sleek look was a bit tricky. My final steps of the install were primarily focused on cable management.

Summer Slide Block Party

Summer slide is a term that refers to the knowledge loss that children experience during summer break. The few months off school allows them to lose a significant amount of the information they gained in their last school year, setting them back before the new year even begins. There are a lot of ways to combat this learning loss and I was on the committee that put on an event to educate parents and their children about summer slide, as well as give them resources to prevent it. For the event I had to call many local organizations to donate their time and set up a booth, I coordinated with a DJ who donated their time for the event, I created material for organizations that were unable to attend and unable to provide information, and I created the event map and the event schedule. You can view the map, schedule, or handout that I created by clicking the file image to the left.

Parent Summit
This was an event that was coordinated through the Parent Center at the middle school I worked in, which serves to assist and educate parents while their students are attending that school. I was part of the subcommittee working on this event and was solely in charge of presenting on a particular topic. There were three presentations from my team and I was in charge of the main one. You can download and view the main handout and the presentation that I created by clicking on the file image to the left.
